PAC Machinery will exhibit automated bagging and fulfillment systems at MODEX 2026, held April 13–16, 2026 at the Georgia World Congress Center. The company’s showcase focuses on integrating recyclable paper, recycled-content poly films, and all-electric automation into high-throughput packaging environments within the digital supply chain.
Flexible Material Strategies in Automated Packaging
In e-commerce, third-party logistics (3PL), and light industrial manufacturing, packaging operations must balance material efficiency, shipping protection, and labeling compliance. PAC Machinery’s “Flexible Sustainability” approach centers on enabling the same automation platforms to process multiple material types curbside-recyclable paper mailers and polyethylene films containing recycled resin without major hardware changes.
This material flexibility addresses increasing regulatory and retailer requirements for recyclability and recycled content, while maintaining compatibility with automated print-and-apply labeling systems used in fulfillment centers.
Tabletop Automation for Entry-Level and Distributed Operations
For smaller production cells and distributed fulfillment sites, the Rollbag R785 tabletop automatic bagger integrates thermal transfer printing directly onto bags up to 12 inches wide. Printing at the point of packaging eliminates separate labeling steps and reduces handling time, which can improve line efficiency and reduce labeling errors.
The newly introduced Rollbag 985 automatic bagger extends this concept by supporting both curbside-recyclable paper and poly materials with recycled content. Designed as a compact tabletop unit, it enables facilities transitioning from manual bagging to automated workflows to standardize packaging formats while retaining material flexibility. This approach is particularly relevant for operations seeking to reduce plastic usage without fully replacing existing poly-based workflows.
High-Speed Fulfillment Wrapping Without Compressed Air
For high-throughput distribution centers, the 6800CS and 6800CS-XL fulfillment wrappers are all-electric automatic poly bagging systems that create right-sized bags around products of varying lengths. By forming the bag to the product dimensions, the systems reduce excess film use compared with fixed-size mailers.
The machines operate without compressed air, lowering infrastructure complexity and potentially reducing energy demand associated with pneumatic systems. Integrated print-and-apply labeling at the packaging point supports carrier-compliant shipping labels and traceability requirements common in automated warehouses and cross-docking operations.
Paper-Based Automation for Larger Mailer Formats
The Rollbag R3200 and R3200XL automatic baggers expand paper-based automation to wider mailer formats. The R3200 processes bags up to 16 inches wide, while the R3200XL accommodates widths up to 22 inches. Both systems support curbside-recyclable paper mailers as well as poly mailers containing up to 100 percent recycled resins.
For fulfillment operations evaluating alternatives to conventional plastic mailers, this configuration allows a phased transition: operators can process paper and recycled-content poly on the same platform, aligning equipment investment with evolving sustainability targets.
Packaging Materials and Barcode Compliance
In addition to machinery, PAC Machinery will present packaging materials compatible with automatic baggers from multiple manufacturers. These include recyclable paper mailers and poly bags with recycled content, as well as barcode-blocking bags designed for marketplace fulfillment programs where scannability and label isolation are required.
Material compatibility across different automatic bagging platforms supports interoperability within the automotive data ecosystem and broader supply chain IT environments, where packaging stations must integrate with warehouse management systems (WMS), shipping software, and traceability tools.
Industry Context: Packaging Within the Digital Supply Chain
At MODEX 2026, organized by MHI, the focus on automated, material-flexible bagging reflects broader industry trends. As e-commerce volumes increase and sustainability reporting becomes more standardized, packaging systems are evaluated not only on cycle time but also on material reduction, recyclability pathways, and integration with digital labeling and tracking systems.
PAC Machinery’s exhibit demonstrates how automated bagging platforms can combine right-sized packaging, recycled or recyclable substrates, and integrated printing to align operational efficiency with environmental compliance requirements in modern fulfillment environments.
